Business Retention, Innovation and Expansion (BRIE) is an economic-development program with a focus on supporting existing small to medium-sized businesses. It uses a systematic approach to assist local government in developing strategies that support businesses in retaining and creating new jobs, and enables an innovative culture in the community.
The economic health of a community relies on a strong, diversified small to medium sized business base that can sustain and create jobs. Supporting the development and innovation of local businesses is fundamental in order to grow and sustain our community, the region and the greater Central Plains economy.
The process? The BRIE is a one-on-one confidential interview between PRED staff and a local entrepreneur; the result of which will help shape local government policy.
